What Does Employer of Choice Mean?

With a large majority of the workforce already employed it has become harder and harder for an organization to attract and retain any employee, especially top employees. A simple equation of supply and demand, organizations are fighting to be the “employer of choice” to prospective candidates in hopes of securing those candidates into employment. This competition has created an employee market where the employee holds the leverage and where companies are forced to raise the bar in all facets of being an employer.

Being an employer of choice simply means that employees will be more likely to choose employment at your organization versus another.

What an individual deems important in where they work and who they work for, will vary from person to person. However, there are several key common areas that employers must focus on.
