When was the last time you read an instruction manual? If you are like me, it has been years. Virtually anything I need to learn about has been first researched via video. It's easier, more comprehensive (yet concise), and walks me through the process in a way no manual can. By 2020 (yep this year), over 80% of internet traffic will be consuming video. No doubt, creating written content is far easier and less expensive than video. However, when you look at the ROI video creates, the investment is well worth it. This is why video is becoming the medium of choice for talent attraction, not to mention business development.
Employers in today’s tough talent market must realize that talent is a consumer too. Video is the most powerful tool to share your story effectively for talent to easily gain a clear sense of life on the inside, culture, purpose, and other important information which compels them to engage. If you are making it difficult for talent to get to know you, odds are they will not. 86% of talent is gainfully employed and unemployment continues to be a record lows. The data shows that this trend will continue so companies who want to create inbound talent strategies while reducing talent acquisition costs need to incorporate video into their recruitment process.
